Snow Reminders from Hillsborough Police Department

In light of the recent snowstorms, the Hillsborough Police Department would like to share the following reminders:

Township Code Chapter 143-21 prohibits parking on snow-covered roads.  There will be more on this with the DPW update that Deputy Mayor Ciccarelli is sharing.

N.J.S.A. 39:4-77.1 requires all snow and ice to be cleared from a vehicle before driving.  Flying ice and snow, can damage other vehicles and potentially create visibility problems for other drivers.  

Snow should not be shoveled, thrown, or deposited in the roadway from sidewalks and driveways, as per Township Code Chapter 197-2.  When clearing sidewalks and driveways, please pile snow on the side of the driveway and do not throw it in the street.
