Master Plan Update Begins: Climate Change-Related Hazard Vulnerability Assessment Adopted

On December 14th, the Planning Board held a public hearing where the Township's first Climate Change-Related Hazard Vulnerability Assessment of the Master Plan Land Use Element was adopted. The public provided important feedback, which was incorporated into the plan. The document is available online for public view on the Planning & Zoning Department's webpage. This was an important step in starting the Master Plan Update.

Michael Pisauro, Policy Director at the Watershed Institute said, "The Township's Climate Change-Related Hazard Vulnerability Assessment is a very good roadmap, especially the items in the design standards section. We all need to do better and towns are starting to realize that. As the Township reviews it's Master Plan it will be important look at regional approaches to address flooding and extreme weather events as we all know we can't solve it one town at a time. I commend the Township for putting the plan together."
