National Veterans Small Business Month
President Obama first declared National Veterans Small Business Week in 2014 to recognize the vital role veterans and their spouses play in our economy.
A 2017 Small Business Association (SBA) report reflects that nine percent of all U.S. companies are veteran-owned, culminating in more than two million businesses with five million employees and nearly 200 billion dollars in paychecks. Veteran-owned businesses are a critical pillar of the United States economy. Through entrepreneurship and business ownership these veterans continue their service by not only contributing to the economy but also by creating economic opportunities for other Americans.
The week of October 30th through November 3rd, National Veterans Small Business Week, shines a light on, raises awareness for, and encourages support for veteran-owned businesses.
Hillsborough Township celebrates the rich contributions made by Hillsborough Township’s veteran-owned businesses while acknowledging the growth and accomplishments of veteran entrepreneurs, and the vital roles they play in our economy.
You can see all of the Township businesses owned by veterans, as well as businesses that give discounts on their services or products to veterans, on the Military & Veterans page of the Township website.
