Halloween Festivities Abound in Hillsborough

Hillsborough Township’s Parks and Recreation Department has no shortage of family-friendly Halloween events this fall.

The Children’s Halloween Party at Norz Farm will take place on Thursday, October 26th, at 3:30 p.m. All registered attendees will receive their own pumpkin, enjoy a hayride, walk through the kids bale maze, and take home a special goodie bag. Norz Hill Farm is located at 120 South Branch Road and the cost per attendee is $12.00. Registration for this event ends at noon on October 26th.

Furry family members aren’t exempt from Halloween festivities. The annual Howl-O-Ween dog parade is taking place at Ann Van Middlesworth Park. Registration for costumed canines will begin at 8:30 and the parade will commence at 9 a.m. All dogs must be spayed or neutered and not show any type of aggression to other dogs at the park to attend.

Another time-honored Hillsborough Halloween tradition is the annual Trunk or Treat at the Willow Road Complex, where young ghosts, superheroes, witches, and princesses will kick off the holiday early and collect candy from decorated car trunks. While this event is full for “treaters,” registration is still open for “trunks.” Trunk or treat begins at 1:30 pm and prizes will be awarded for Best Trunk.

“As we prepare for our fall Halloween events here in Hillsborough we are hoping for a stretch of good weather as so far this fall has seen rain on just about every weekend” said Bob Wagner Director of Parks & Recreation. “We are happy to report that conditions look favorable for all of our upcoming Halloween festivities.”

Please check the Hillsborough Township website and social media channels for updates in the event of inclement weather. ###
