At the March 10th meeting, the Township Committee recognized 2 Special Olympic Athletes. Hillsborough residents Joontae Hwang and Jeffrey Monahan were two of hundreds of athletes that competed in the Special Olympics Winter Games.
“The Township Committee recognizes and honors the great accomplishments of Joontae Hwang and Jeffrey Monahan. We are proud that they are members of our community and wish them a bright future,” said Mayor Doug Tomson.
The New Jersey Special Olympics 2020 Games were held February 3rd and 4th at Mountain Creek Resort, National Winter Activity Center and Skylands Ice World. Joontae Hwang was awarded gold medals in both the Intermediate Giant Slalom and Intermediate Super G and competed in the Time Trial Intermediate. Jeffrey Monahan was awarded the Silver Medal in the Giant Slalom and Super G event and competed in the Time Trial Advanced.
