Reminder About Dead Trees

The Hillsborough Health Department would like to remind residents that it is required by township ordinance that homeowners must remove any dead trees on their property. Like most areas in the northeast, Hillsborough is being significantly affected by several tree-killing diseases and insects, such as the Emerald Ash Borer. Standing dead trees represent a significant danger to people who are walking or driving, as well as to buildings and power lines. Dead trees will be easier to spot as spring progresses, identified by a lack of emerging leaves. Feel free to contact the Health Department with any questions.
