“Litter Did You Know”

Recently, Hillsborough residents were polled about their plastic bag usage, specifically if they used reusable shopping bags when shopping. 59% of those polled said they used plastic bags every time they went shopping. 28% of those who responded said they used plastic bags sometimes, and a little over 12% of respondents said they didn’t use plastic bags for their shopping at all. 

In 2020, only 10% of the 4.20 million tons of plastic bags, wraps, and sacks produced were recycled.  Thank you to all those who have donated their plastic bags.  We are no longer accepting them, but stay tuned for future initiatives.
