Township Committee Acknowledges Hillsborough Teens for Their Meals for Heroes Campaign

At the April 28th meeting, the Township Committee acknowledged the work of Raj and Navleen Boparai, Mehr Sing and Kabir Nagpal from Meals for Heroes for their efforts and support of frontline workers during this pandemic.  This campaign delivers meals to our front-line heroes.  

This group of young citizens have raised over $30,000 so far and served over 3000 meals to places such as Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Foothills Acres Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, The Avalon Assisted Living Center and Hillsborough Police Department. They will continue their efforts as long as there is a need.   

“Mayor Tomson and I joined them at Foothill Acres for their delivery to the staff there.  Last week, they made a delivery to Avalon and they have some future deliveries lined up. In addition to front-line hero support, they are also supporting local Hillsborough businesses in providing the meals,” said Deputy Mayor Shawn Lipani.  “Raj, Navleen, Mehr, Kabir and their friends even drew the attention of Governor Phil Murphy during one of his Press Conferences,” added Deputy Mayor Lipani.
