Meet a new best friend and provide a forever home to deserving pets at the Hillsborough Municipal Building this Saturday!
Two Bronze Award-winning Cadets are on a mission to match deserving pets with forever homes and deserving humans with their new best friends.
Kristen Caruso and Carly Schwarz, both Honor Roll students, have been Girl Scouts since kindergarten. Representing Girl Scout Troop 60576, these Hillsborough Middle School Honor Roll students are coordinating a pet adoption drive as part of their Silver Award requirement, the Cadets’ highest achievement.
“I want to help dogs and cats find their forever home,” said Kristen. “It breaks my heart knowing that there are animals out there that are not receiving all the love they deserve.” In addition to taking care of her adorable golden retriever-mix puppy (who isn’t a puppy anymore), Kristen also plays field hockey and enjoys reading and writing in her spare time.
Carly, who participates in dance, loves music, and dotes on her cavapoo Lucy, is also parlaying her love for animals into her Silver Award project. “I’ve always had a strong love for animals and helping them is one of the best feelings ever. We are so excited to find these adorable animals some amazing homes!!”
The rain or shine pet adoption event is being held at the Hillsborough Municipal Building on Saturday, May 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Come out and find a new furry family member!
