Rain Garden Survey Focuses on increasing adoption of Green Infrastructure practices that help reduce flooding and clean water
Since 2014, Hillsborough Township has collaborated with the Rutgers Cooperative Extension on a 319(h) Clean Water Act Grant from the NJ Department of Environmental Protection on several projects that has engaged the community to adopt green infrastructure practices that help reduce flooding and clean water in the Royce Brook. Numerous projects were completed including the municipal complex rain gardens, rain garden rebate program, Wescott & Amwell Road detention basin retrofit, and phase I of the Foxchase pond restoration project. The Rutgers Cooperative Extension is inviting participants to take a survey. The purpose is to determine the influence of incentives and barriers to the residential rain garden rebate program and impacts of the rain garden rebate program in Hillsborough, along with any influence of municipal rain gardens. Participants who complete the survey will receive a chance for a random drawing for a $50 gift certificate to a local Hillsborough restaurant, The Landing restaurant. To take the survey, an email will be sent out to Hillsborough Township e-News subscribers or visit www.sustainablehillsborough.com or click the button below. Questions about the study or study procedures, please contact Pat Rector, Woods at firstname.lastname@example.org or (973) 285-8303.
