Recently, two new Fall programs have taken the Hillsborough community by storm through the Hillsborough Parks and Recreation Department. The Sylvan Learning Coding For Kids and the Exploring Acrylic Painting classes completely sold out within days of being introduced.
The Sylvan Learning Coding For Kids class takes place on Saturdays from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at the Peter J. Biondi Municipal Building. The programming class explores the foundations of programming, focusing on storytelling, project planning, modeling, computational thinking, algorithmic and design thinking abilities, and pattern recognition. The program had a capacity of 15 spots, which were reserved almost instantly. The program founders hope to conduct an additional offering in the near future.
The Exploring Acrylic Painting program takes places on Thursdays, 6 pm to 7:30 pm also at the Peter J. Biondi Municipal Building. The course covers the basics of painting, specifically looking at ways to improve one’s drawing, layout, color mixing, and painting skill set. Students also create two fully realized acrylic paintings. The program also had a maximum capacity of 15 people, which was shortly reached after introduction.
With such success, the goal is to grow these new programs in the future. Be sure to visit the Hillsborough Township Parks and Recreations website for more information!
