D & R Canal Commission

Somerset County Planning Board
The Somerset County Planning Board is part of the Planning Division. The Planning Division consists of the Planning Board, Agriculture Development Board, Office of Economic Development, Cultural & Heritage Commission and Solid Waste Management, which operate as separate units reporting to the Director of Planning, Robert P. Somerset County Soil Conservation District
The Somerset County Soil Conservation District assists landowners by providing information on natural resources, provides technical assistance to engineers in the development of erosion-control plans and assists agriculture in management of soils, erosion control and conservation practices.
Somerset County Solid Waste Management
The Somerset County Solid Waste Management division promotes the recovery of reusable materials through recycling, conducts periodic household hazardous waste disposal programs, coordinates the Adopt-A-Road (great Marketing tool!) and is responsible for the planning, implementing and monitoring of solid waste disposal methods.
Sourland Mountain Preserve
The 2,870 acre Sourland Mountain Preserve is county owned and administered by the Somerset County Park Commission. The Preserve provides passive recreational opportunities in an undisturbed natural setting.
