Free Radon Kits Available From Health Department

The Hillsborough Health Department is now offering a limited number of FREE radon test kits to Hillsborough Township residents. Kits include a radon test canister, instructions on how to set up the test, and an envelope to mail the test kit to the participating NJ certified laboratory (results will be mailed directly to participating homeowners). Kits will be offered on a first-come, first served basis, and only one kit will be given at a time.

These kits are intended for owners of homes built prior to 1990, which were constructed with no radon mitigation systems (homes built after 1990 were required to be built with radon-resistant features). If your house currently has a radon system, or you have had a radon test done in your house previously, we ask that you do not request a kit so that we have more available for homes that have no radon system or radon-resistant features.

Homeowners may contact Michael Carr at (908) 369-5652 with any questions. Interested residents can obtain a kit at the Health Department Monday-Friday between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.
