What is the process for LEAF Disposal?

LEAF PICK UP begins November 1st and runs (weather permitting) through the end of December. Leaves must be raked to the curb or ditch line. Leaves must not be in the roadway or ditches. All areas of town will receive (2) passes during the program (weather permitting). Leaves can be placed in a homemade bin with stakes and wire fence to contain in one area (no higher than 36 inches at the curb). Bagged leaves will not be accepted. Leaf piles with sticks, branches, grass clippings or anything other than leaves will not be picked up.

We start on the outside/perimeter of the town and work our way to the center, which is Amwell Road and Route 206.

We do not have a definite schedule because it depends on how many machines we have on the road, how many crews are available, weather permitting, how many residents utilize the program, and how many leaves have fallen.

It usually takes 1 month to do 1 pass in each section. We make 2 passes.

THERE IS A TOWNSHIP ORDINANCE #2005-42: YARD WASTE IN ROADWAY – PENALTIES TO INCLUDE FINES UP TO $1,250.00.

LEAF DROP OFF dates are listed below. Drop off hours are 7:00 am – 3:00 pm. Only leaves will be accepted. No brush, yard waste or debris. If the leaves are bagged, please dump the leaves and take the bag(s) with you. Proof of residency is required. Leaf Drop Off will be accepted on the following dates at the Auten Road Dump Site (Opposite of the Auten Road Intermediate School, next to the RR Tracks).
