Somerset County Teen Arts Festival
NORTH BRANCH – The public is invited to attend the 38th annual Somerset County Teen Arts Festival that will be held between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, at Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC), located on Route 28 and Lamington Road. The Teen Arts Festival is planned and coordinated each year by the Somerset County Cultural and Heritage Commission.
Student performances will be critiqued by professional artists in five cultural arts disciplines: Dance; Instrumental Music; Theatre; Large Group Vocal Music and Solo-Small Group Vocal Music.
In addition, there will be over 400 pieces of artwork on display in the RVCC Gallery.
Students from several Somerset County schools will participate, including Bound Brook High School, Bound Brook; Branchburg Central Middle School, Branchburg; Bridgewater-Raritan Middle and High Schools, Bridgewater; Franklin Middle and High Schools, Somerset; Green Brook Middle School, Green Brook; Hillsborough Middle & High Schools, Hillsborough; Manville High School, Manville; the Midland School, North Branch; Montgomery Upper Middle School, Skillman; North Plainfield High School, North Plainfield; Purnell School, Pottersville; Robert Morris School, South Bound Brook; Somerset County Alternative High School, Raritan; Somerset County Vo-Tech High School, Bridgewater; Somerville High School, Somerville; and Watchung Hills Regional High School, Warren. A number of home-schooled students also will participate.
Guests and participants are asked to register at one of two reception desks located either in the main building across from the Library (use Parking Lots 1 or 2) or in the Arts Building entrance (use Parking Lot 5). After signing in, a guest badge will be issued and a commemorative program will be made available.
