Is there a streetlight out in your neighborhood? Please click here to fill-out a form on the PSE&G website or call 1-800-436-PSEG (7734). The following information will be required to report the streetlight problem: (a) location of the street light, (b) the nearest cross street and (c) the pole number; usually located on a metal strip attached to the pole.

Important note: If you are reporting more than one street light outage, each light/pole will require a separate Internet Order.

Hillsborough's Public Works Dept......Working For You

The Township of Hillsborough's Public Works Department operates and maintains the infrastructure of the Township's two hundred and fifty plus miles of roadway, maintains all municipal grounds and buildings, Township Open Space, parklands and recreation facilities. The Department works closely with the Police Department in monitoring road and safety conditions in the Township, and responds to emergencies as needed.

Public Works also oversees the Annual Spring Clean Up, operates and staffs the Township reclamation/disposal center and the fall leaf collection. The Public Works Garage maintains/repairs all Township owned vehicles and equipment.

The annual Township Memorial Day Parade/Picnic and Fourth of July celebration are among the many community oriented affairs the Department takes part in.

The annual Township Leaf Pick-Up Program begins in November and runs through December (weather permitting). Leaves should be raked to the curb and NOT in the roadway. Leaves may be placed in a homemade bin with stakes and wire fence, no higher then 36 inches, at the curb.

Streetlight Out?

All residents on Township roads with ditches: please rake leaves to the ditch line on your property, not in the ditch. Leaves may also be placed in a homemade bin.

Bagged leaves or leaf piles with sticks, branches, grass clippings or any other debris will NOT be picked up. Areas with normally heavy concentrations of leaves will receive at least two passes.

Recycling Buckets

The Health Dept. distributes recycling buckets free-of-charge. Additional buckets may be obtained for your residence at a cost of $10/per bucket. Please contact (908) 369-4313 to speak with a representative from the Health Dept. regarding the acquisition of a recycling bucket.

IMPORTANT: Please place materials at curbside either the night before or no later than 7:00 am on your collection day. Also, all residents are asked to thoroughly clean and rinse their recycling buckets periodically with hot, soapy water. Clean buckets attract fewer pests and reduce offensive odors.
