The Hillsborough Senior Center, located at 339 South Branch Road, will host two special events in January.
A Home Energy Efficiency presentation will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27. Rashid Burney, energy consultant and founder of Building Sciences, LLC in Plainfield, will discuss insulation, air leaks, furnace upgrades and other options for homeowners to consider to become energy efficient and save money.
On Friday, Jan. 30, the senior center will hold a Hawaiian Luau. Participants will enjoy a video about Hawaii, music and dancing. Volunteer Rose Rosenbaum of Hillsborough, who lived in Hawaii for a period of time, will offer Hula dancing instructions. Lunch will be served at 11:45 a.m. The menu includes ham and pineapple. Registration for the Luau is requested by Tuesday, Jan. 27. A suggested donation of $1.50 is recommended for lunch.
The Hillsborough Senior Center is one of seven centers operated by the Somerset County Office on Aging. The center, which is accessible to individuals with disabilities, offers a variety of educational, recreational and entertaining activities for seniors, including wellness programs and
health screenings.
