Carl and his family have lived in Hillsborough since 1994.  He graduated from Rutgers University with a Mechanical Engineering degree and from Silberman College of Business at Fairleigh Dickinson University with an M.B.A.  Carl was first elected to the Township Committee in 2003. He served as Deputy Mayor in 2005 and 2011, Mayor in 2006 as well as on the Planning Board. He was unanimously selected to serve as Mayor for 2012. Prior to his election, he served on the Recreation Commission. Mayor Suraci currently serves on the Finance Committee and is liaison to the the following Boards and Commissions: Public Safety, Courts, Legal, Administration, Cable Advisory, Credit Card Advisory Committee, Library Council, Parks and Recreation Commission and Youth Services Commision.
