Hillsborough Township is the 5th Safest City in New Jersey

Hillsborough Township was once again ranked among the top safest communities in the State of New Jersey, according to a report by Safewise, a security product review platform.

The SafeWise Report released its “50 Safest Cities in New Jersey” list earlier this month, naming Hillsborough Township the 5th safest city in the state. To compile this report, SafeWise used the most recent FBI crime data, population, and other ranking factors, like unique safety initiatives and security programs implemented within the past few years. From the hundreds of cities and towns in New Jersey, the list was narrowed down to 50 and assigned rankings according to how each city met the criteria.

“It’s an honor to announce that Hillsborough continues to rank among the top safest places to live in New Jersey,” stated Mayor Robert Britting, Jr. “We pride ourselves on all that Hillsborough Township has to offer to all those who live and work here, striving to maintain fiscal responsibility while maintaining a safe and attractive community remains our goal,” added Mayor Britting.

“We are proud to be recognized as one of the safest municipalities in NJ once again,” added Hillsborough Township Police Chief Mike McMahon. “This is a direct result of the hard work that our officers put in each and every day to serve our community.”
